ABOUT

ABOUT ME  (my pronouns are she/her)

Why Counselling?

Life can be challenging at times. In those moments it's common to feel out of sorts, lost or uncertain. Counselling is a place to be listened to, process and make sense of problems, better understand ourselves and make meaning of our life experienes. It's an opportunity for self-healing and self-care.

EXPERIENCE

I am a Registered Masters of Social Work and a former Bachelor of Education Elementary School Teacher. Teaching was my first career and I was fortunate to teach in Alberta, Rwanda and England. Teaching showed me that my true passion is in social work, advocacy and counselling.  My 11 year social work background is in counselling, healthcare, gerontology, maternity, pediatrics, trauma, first response, workplace burnout, caregiver burnout, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, relationships with self and others, parenting, self-esteem, co-dependency, healthy boundaries, self-love and inner-child healing.

My Practice

My clients know themselves best and are their own experts. I am here to provide a safe space for you to share or talk through the things that hinder living your life to the fullest. I draw from Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Person-Centered and Culturally Safe Practice.
